The BLUE Vivo Selfie was definitely a unique phone compared to others that I have review. For one, the phone comes with a protective case and a Selfie stick. Talk about your added accessories. Quite a PLUS in my book. The protective case isn’t really that protective though. Just a simple plastic sheath and front cover screen protector. The SELFIE stick is a fun addition though and very sturdy, with Bluetooth capabilities. The one accessory that was practically worthless was the headphones though, terrible headphones – comparable to something you would get at the dollar store for half-price, they crackle, the sound is terrible and you feel like you are underwater.

The phone is a capable Android device. It isn’t the fastest or biggest on the market but for the PRICE – you can’t beat it. My biggest complaint is the LOW memory. 4GB – that is very very low and this phone will be filled up in seconds. Especially if it promotes itself as a photo camera…those eat up the most memory on my other devices. I know it is expandable, but most users aren’t willing or able to expand their memory.

Other pros, 2 SIM cards, so you can use this baby for home/work all in one. Love that. You need to get a conversion for your iPhone SIM though – and they don’t go into much detail on this, or the fact that you need to restart the phone when you add a SIM card. So if you add a SIM and nothing happens, restart it.

Finally, the SELFIE part of this Smartphone. This is what is all about, right? It takes cute pictures and has a “FACE BEAUTY” section that improves your selfies. It takes out the bags under your eyes, blemishes off your skin and brightens your eyes. I wasn’t THAT impressed with those in-app changes…but it is great for an “on-the-go” touch-up for your selfie. Also, you have to have your head STRAIGHT or it won’t recognize your face, so that cute little head-cocked selfie just doesn’t work.

Do I need a phone to take better selfies? No – not me personally, but there sure are a lot of people on my Facebook feed that could use a little selfi touch-ups. I should probably suggest they get this camera. You ever notice that? It’s really the REALLY pretty and the REALLY ugly people that take tons of selfies…or maybe the REALLY pretty people are just using a selfie touch-up program and are technically REALLY ugly – and the REALLY ugly people just don’t have a program yet. Something to think about!

Photo below shows selfie taken – before and after in-app enhancements. I have a lot of freckles – so it gets rid of those.

This phone covers all the basics you’d expect from a basic no contract phone – and then some. It features dual sim, dual 8MP cameras, Gorilla Glass 3 AMOLED screen and a quad core Mediatek processor.

Ignore the reviewer claiming to use it on T-Mobile LTE because this phone lacks LTE – so you’ll be on HSDPA+ on your carrier. It will NOT work on Verizon or Sprint, or any other carrier that uses EVDO/CDMA – this is a GSM only device, which means AT&T, T-Mobile, MetroPCS or other similar provider.

The phone looks and feels good. Not Galaxy S6 good, but at under $150, you get one heck of a bargain. Downsides include limited storage (just 8GB of which only 3GB is still available when you first use it.

Upsides include a gorgeous screen, dual sim, great camera with “glam flash” (which just appears to be a dual LED flash to make skin tones look better). There are also some nice free accessories in the box. IT runs Android 5 (Lollipop) which means it is up to date on the newest version.

All in all this is an excellent device for anyone looking to save money and get a phone with the latest Android OS.

We have been an iPhone household since the iPhone 3. But, since doing away completely with a landline, we have been talking about having a house phone still – but as an extra cell line that only leaves the house in the event of emergencies. Plus, we have both been curious about the Android phones since a few of our friends and family have made the conversion from iPhone to Android and been so happy. The phone is exactly what it claims to be – it’s a smartphone with a surprisingly big, high-resolution screen and comes with a lot of extras for its price – seriously – it comes with a glass screen protector, a plastic hardshell case for the back of the phone, and a blutooth enable selfie stick! The phone comes with 8GB of space, but with the operating system that is included, there are only 3GB available – but the phone has the options to add more on which is nice. And the operating system itself is pretty intuitive (probably easier for a first time smartphone user than one who is accustomed to the Apple system).

This phone also allows you to have two SIM cards (Micro SIM size is readily accepted by the phone). But there are converters available separately, so we were able to put a Nano SIM from an old iPhone in with the converter caddy. But, beware that the phone will need to be re-started with every SIM card swap-out (the instructions don’t relay this, but we discovered this through trial and error). With 2 SIM cards installed, you can use this phone with two separate carriers or accounts linked to different SIM cards to carry out your calls, use the Internet or messaging. The phone includes a good accelerometer for its price and the typing function – including the predictive text for texting also works surprisingly well!

The main highlight of the phone is probably the camera and its neat functions. It’s a high-resolution image with an 8mp front and back camera that has neat features like a shutter that won’t activate until it senses a smile before taking the picture automatically. The phone also includes facial recognition software as an option for unlocking it with just your face and it works better than the fingerprint access which is frustrating in the winter and if your hands are ever wet or dirty. For its price, it really includes a lot!!! I am really missing whatever part of the phone isn’t comparable to the $600-$800 other smartphones. While this is a lighter phone, it really doesn’t feel chintzy (not to mention the price includes protection!). If you are looking for a bargain smartphone, I would look no further! It’s easy to use, looks nice and comes with a lot of great extras! I am certainly happy that we have this now as a good back-up for our household!
